  • Panthers' Colin White: Signs with Cats

White put pen to paper on a one-year, $1.2 million deal with Florida on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. White has seen his numbers decline in four straight seasons with the Senators, including last year's 10 points in just 24 games. Minutes won't be any easier to come by for the 25-year-old Boston native with his new club, making him a low-end fantasy option that could serve as a healthy scratch more often than note next year.

  • Colin White: Clears waivers

White cleared waivers Wednesday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. White was waived by the Senators and will now have his contract bought out, making him a free agent. The 25-year-old was drafted at No. 21 overall back in 2015 and spent parts of six seasons with Ottawa, peaking with 41 points in 2018-19. Last season, White managed 10 points (seven on the power play) in 24 games, so he's likely to attract some suitors at a reduced price from his previous salary of $4.75 million annually.

  • Colin White: Waived Tuesday

The Senators placed White on unconditional waivers for purpose of a buyout Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. White missed most of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery and ended up scoring just 10 points in 24 games. He still has three seasons left on a six-year deal that carries a $4.75 million AAV. Assuming he clears waivers, the 25-year-old will become a free agent. White could be an interesting option for teams looking to add some low-cost forward depth this offseason.

  • Senators' Colin White: Unlikely to return

White (COVID-19 protocols) is not expected to play in the Senators' last three games, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. White has already missed five games this year after entering the league's COVID-19 protocols and will now remain on the shelf for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign. With White sidelined, the club is expected to call up Scott Sabourin and Mark Kastelic from the minors to fill out the roster ahead of Tuesday's matchup with New Jersey.

  • Senators' Colin White: Enters virus protocols

White was placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocols list Saturday. White will likely be sidelined at least until Friday to satisfy the protocols. Victor Mete is set to enter the lineup for Saturday's Battle of Ontario against the Maple Leafs, as the Senators have no extra forwards available.

  • Senators' Colin White: Logs power-play helper

White posted a power-play assist, three hits and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets. White set up Brady Tkachuk 50 seconds into the third period to spark the Senators' comeback attempt. While he's not tearing up the scoresheet, White has been a solid depth scorer with five points and 22 shots in his last 11 contests. The 25-year-old center is up to 10 points, 44 shots on net, 24 hits and a minus-10 rating in 22 games this season after missing four months with a shoulder injury to begin the campaign.

White netted a goal on the power play in a 5-2 win over the Jets on Thursday. White notched a power-play assist and two hits in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Golden Knights. White helped out on the Senators' lone goal by Brady Tkachuk. The 25-year-old White has played in five games since returning from a shoulder injury, and he's put up three points so far. The American center has added 12 shots on net, seven hits and a minus-1 rating while playing in a top-six role. • Senators' Colin White: Closing in on return

White (shoulder) skated in a non-contact jersey Wednesday and is expected to make his season debut Feb. 26 versus Montreal, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. White has yet to play this year due to a shoulder injury he suffered during the preseason, but he's clearly close to making his season debut. Once given the green light, White, who picked up 18 points through 45 games last season, should be a staple in Ottawa's middle six.

  • Senators' Colin White: Weeks from returning

White (shoulder) expects to return from injured reserve between mid-February and early March, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. White has missed the entire season thus far due to a preseason shoulder injury, which required surgery. The 24-year-old, who had 10 goals and eight assists last season, figures to be a staple in Ottawa's lineup once he's ready to play.

  • Senators' Colin White: Headed for surgery

White will undergo shoulder surgery that will sideline him for 4-6 months, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Initial reports coming out of Ottawa were anticipating an extended absence for White, so this latest news shouldn't come as a complete surprise. With the winger on the shelf until at least after the Olympic break in February, the team signed Tyler Ennis to a one-year deal. Both Ennis and Austin Watson should take on bigger roles, including with the man advantage, while White is unavailable.

  • Senators' Colin White: Could miss extended time

White (upper body) will undergo an MRI Tuesday and could be out longer-term, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. White was slow to get up in the first period of Monday's preseason game against Toronto and left the ice with noticeable pain in his right arm/shoulder. A more detailed update on his injury should be available after the MRI, but the 24-year-old could certainly miss the start of the regular season.

  • Senators' Colin White: Gets in practice session

White (undisclosed) practiced Thursday with the Senators, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. White was held out of the Senators' season finale last year, but it was never expected to be a long-term injury. The 24-year-old struggled with 18 points and 69 shots on goal in 45 games last year, but he's shown 40-point potential in the past. He'll likely end up closer to 30 points, as he's expected to be in no more than a third-line role to open the 2021-22 campaign.

  • Senators' Colin White: Struggles through season

White couldn't really get going in 2020-21, finishing with his lowest assist total since 2018 with just eight helpers. He did score 10 goals, however. So far, White's assists have gone the wrong way since 2018 - from 27 to 16 to eight, which is not an encouraging trend. White will still get plenty of chances, but he'll need to show more production before earning a slot in most redraft leagues.

He'll likely continue to occupy a middle-six role as well as a spot on the Senators' second power-play unit in 2021-22.
