  • Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Sent to minors

Chicago has sent Vlasic (undisclosed) to AHL Rockford, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago. Vlasic hasn't played yet this season due to the injury, but his reassignment is an indicator that he's healthy now. He'll get a chance to get back up to speed in the minors and gain some valuable experience. It wouldn't be surprising if Chicago calls him up at some point during the 2022-23 campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Out Saturday

Vlasic (undisclosed) won't play Saturday against San Jose, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Vlasic has now missed three games to open the season. He should serve on the second or third pairing once he's healthy, but Vlasic isn't expected to be a regular producer offensively.

  • Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Not expected to play

Vlasic (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Wednesday versus Colorado, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Vlasic is evidently still feeling the effects of a shot he blocked during practice. With Vlasic unavailable, look for Filip Roos to jump into the lineup against the Avalanche.

  • Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Scores first career goal

Vlasic scored a goal in 14:04 of ice time in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Coyotes. Vlasic's shot bounced off a defender's skate and past Karel Vejmelka to give him his first NHL goal. A second-round pick in 2019, the 6-foot-6 defenseman isn't likely to put up a lot of points at the NHL level anytime soon after posting just eight in 32 games with Boston University this season. The Blackhawks are hopeful that the Illinois native can become a valuable, defensive-minded blueliner.
