  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Tallies power-play goal

Blankenburg scored a power-play goal on four shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Jets. Blankenburg is on a four-game point streak, accumulating three goals and two assists, including three power-play points, in that span. For the season, he's up to four goals, 11 points, 29 shots on net, 14 hits, 15 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 15 appearances. It's getting hard to ignore Blankenburg's production -- even though he's in a third-pairing role and on the second power-play unit, he's worth considering in fantasy while he's hot on offense.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Adds two more points

Blankenburg scored a goal, dished a power-play assist and added two PIM in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings. Blankenburg is heating up again with three points, including two on the power play, over his last two games. He's been a regular in the lineup since the end of October, and while he's on the third pairing at even strength, he regularly sees time on the second power-play unit. For the season, the 27-year-old blueliner is at three goals, nine points, 22 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating in 13 appearances. That level of offense is encouraging, though Blankenburg will need to continue to play well to avoid being scratched.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Strikes on power play in loss

Blankenburg scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Panthers. Blankenburg opened November on a five-game point streak, then followed it with four scoreless outings before his goal Monday. The 27-year-old defenseman has at least solidified his place in the lineup on the third pairing, fending off Justin Barron for playing time this month. Blankenburg is up to two goals, seven points, 21 shots on net, 13 hits, nine blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 12 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Finds twine in overtime loss

Blankenburg scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks. Blankenburg has a goal and an assist over the last two games. He's filling a top-four role while Roman Josi (upper body) and Adam Wilsby (lower body) are out, but this could be a good chance for Blankenburg to stake a claim to a more permanent spot in the lineup over Spencer Stastney or Justin Barron. Blankenburg was pretty steady over 60 games in 2024-25, earning 16 points and a minus-2 rating on a weak Nashville team that hasn't shown much improvement over the first month of 2025-26.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Helps out on power play Sunday

Blankenburg notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Blues. Blankenburg has four helpers over his last eight contests, three of which have come on the power play. The 26-year-old continues to fill in on the top power-play unit during the ongoing absence of Roman Josi (upper body), though Blankenburg doesn't have the same scoring talent. He's now at 12 points, 69 shots on net, 57 blocked shots, 47 hits and a plus-9 rating through 48 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Puts up power-play assist

Blankenburg notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks. Blankenburg is starting to see a larger role with the power play, and he's earned a helper in that situation in each of the last two games. He's up to 10 points (two on the power play), 57 shots on net, 45 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-10 rating over 42 appearances this season. It's not his most productive campaign -- that would be his 14-point effort over 36 outings in 2022-23 -- but Blankenburg is emerging as a key part of the Predators' defense as he works toward securing an NHL job for next season.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Grabs helper in shootout win

Blankenburg notched an assist in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Blackhawks. Blankenburg ended a four-game point drought when he set up Filip Forsberg's game-tying goal late in the third period. The 26-year-old Blankenburg has done well to secure his spot in the lineup for Nashville, often playing on the second pairing in recent weeks. He has just five points through 22 outings, though he's added 35 shots on net, 23 hits, 24 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating to provide decent numbers in non-scoring areas.

Blankenburg scored a goal, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Blues. Blankenburg's two goals this season have come over the last three contests. He's also gone plus-6 over his last eight outings, providing steady defense to complement his newfound offense. The 26-year-old blueliner has 21 shots on net, 11 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 14 appearances in his first year with the Predators, but he's done enough to maintain a spot in the lineup over the last month.

Blankenburg was considered week-to-week with an ankle injury at the end of last season. He also missed time with a broken ankle previously in the campaign. It'll be something to monitor with the 25-year-old blueliner, who could be left out of the Opening Night lineup after the Blue Jackets added Damon Severson and Ivan Provorov via trade in the offseason.
