  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Two helpers in Tuesday's win

Fantilli produced two assists and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 preseason win over the Blues. Fantilli set up Yegor Chinakhov's power-play goal in the second period and Mathieu Olivier's empty-netter in the third. With four goals, two helpers and 10 shots on net over four preseason contests, Fantilli has made a great impression. He had 12 goals, 15 assists, 115 shots and 63 hits over 49 regular-season outings before a lacerated calf ended his season early in 2023-24, but the 19-year-old looks poised for a bigger breakout in Year 2.

Fantilli (calf) will suit up in Team Canada's pre-tournament opener of the 2024 IIHF World Championship on Sunday. Fantilli missed the final 33 games of the regular season after suffering a lacerated calf on Jan. 28. Now healthy, the 19-year-old center will look to contribute to Team Canada's run in the IIHF World Championship before preparing for the 2024-25 season. Fantilli (laceration) will miss the rest of the 2023-24 campaign, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Fantilli suffered a lacerated calf Jan. 28 against Seattle. He will finish his rookie season with 12 goals and 25 points in 49 appearances. The third overall pick from the 2023 Draft has a lot of upside and might see a significant jump in offensive production in his second NHL season in 2024-25.

Fantilli was initially projected to be out eight weeks because of a calf laceration he sustained against Seattle on Jan. 28, but his recovery has been slower than expected. • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: One of each in win

Fantilli scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flames. Fantilli helped put the game away, setting up a Dmitri Voronkov goal in the third period before depositing an empty-netter. After racking up 13 points in 14 outings in December, Fantilli has been limited to four points in nine games in January. He's still seeing top-six usage, and ebbs and flows on offense are to be expected with even the most talented of rookies. The 19-year-old has 27 points, 113 shots on net, 43 hits and a minus-19 rating through 47 appearances.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Wraps up big December

Fantilli scored his 11th goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sabres. The rookie jumped out of the box after a minor penalty to join Justin Danforth on the rush, and Fantilli powered through an attempted stick check to beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen just inside the far post. Fantilli has broken out for seven goals and 13 points through 14 games in December, and while he still isn't seeing time on the Blue Jackets' first power-play unit, the 19-year-old is making an impact at even strength on a line with Johnny Gaudreau.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Two-point effort in big win

Fantilli scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 9-4 rout of the Sabres. Fantilli has picked up his scoring pace in December, piling up four goals and eight points over the last seven games, and the third overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft appears to be clicking on a line with Gaudreau.

Fantilli scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Blues. Fantilli has four goals and two assists over his last five games, his most productive stretch of the campaign. The 19-year-old center needed some time to acclimate to the NHL, but he's doing well so far. The rookie is at eight goals, 16 points, 74 shots on net, 22 hits and a minus-8 rating over 29 contests this season. He trails only Connor Bedard (21 points) in the rookie scoring race.

Fantilli recorded his first multi-goal game of his NHL career and currently sits tied for second in rookie scoring behind Connor Bedard (21) with his 15 points. • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Finds twine Friday

Fantilli scored a goal on two shots, blocked three shots and added two PIM in Friday's 4-2 win over the Senators. Fantilli's second-period tally stood as the game-winner. The 19-year-old had been stuck in a rut recently, finishing November with just one assist and a minus-8 rating over his last nine games. Hot and cold stretches are bound to happen for a player that was just drafted in June. Fantilli has done fairly well with 11 points, 63 shots on net, 18 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 25 contests in a middle-six role so far.

  • Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Two helpers in preseason debut

Fantilli collected two assists, one shorthanded, in a 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins in preseason action Sunday. Beginning the split-squad game on a line with Patrik Laine and Alexandre Texier, Fantilli made an immediate impact in the Blue Jackets' lineup. His first helper came early in the first period after Texier slid home the rebound on a Fantilli shot, while his second highlighted both his skill and his compete level. The third overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft pounced on a loose puck in the second frame with the Jackets down a man, drew a defender to him in the Penguins' zone and then dropped a backhand pass to a wide-open Carson Meyer in the slot for Columbus' third goal of the night. The fact that new head coach Pascal Vincent is already giving Fantilli a look on the penalty kill is very encouraging for his potential usage as a rookie, and the 18-year-old seems headed for a top-six role with a strong training camp.
