  • Erik Foley: Won't receive qualifying offer

Foley (concussion) will officially be a free agent after the Blues decided against issuing him a qualifying offer, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. Considering Foley hasn't played in a competitive game since 2017-18 when he was still with Providence College, his release likely marks the end of his playing days due to his concussion problems. Selected by Winnipeg in the third round of the NHL Draft, the 24-year-old winger was never able to get into a professional game at any level.

  • Blues' Erik Foley: Fails physical

According to general manager Doug Armstrong, Foley (concussion) failed his training camp physical, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. Foley missed the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign due to a concussion he suffered during the 2018 Traverse City prospect tournament and he's evidently still feeling the effects. It seems the center is a long way off from being ready to suit up in a game and could potentially be facing the end of his playing career.

  • Blues' Erik Foley: Shut down for season

Foley will not play this season due to concussion symptoms resulting from a hit he took during the preseason, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. Foley has been on non-roster injured reserve since September and will remain there for the rest of the year. The winger was a long shot for a spot on the Blues' 23-man roster and likely would have spent the year playing with AHL San Antonio. Last season, at Providence College, the winger racked up 35 points in 38 outings, so he could provide some bottom-six scoring depth if he ever cracks an NHL lineup.

  • Blues' Erik Foley: Out indefinitely

Foley (concussion) is considered out indefinitely. Foley sustained his injury in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Columbus during the NHL Prospects Tournament, and it appears it could keep him sidelined for a significant portion of training camp, which begins Friday. The 2015 third-round pick isn't expected to win a spot on the Opening Night roster, but being a full participant in camp would've undoubtedly been invaluable for his development. The Blues should release another update on the Providence College product's status once he's cleared to return.

  • Blues' Erik Foley: Being checked out for possible concussion

Foley -- who sustained an injury in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Columbus during the NHL Prospects Tournament -- is being evaluated for concussion symptoms, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Blues GM Doug Armstrong considers Foley's injury to be a minor injury affecting his upper body. This essentially puts an end to the prospects tournament for the 21-year-old, who is set to turn pro after recording 38 goals and 50 assists for Providence College starting with the 2015-16 season.
