  • Kraken's JR Avon: Posts three points Friday

Avon scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Coachella Valley's 6-3 win over San Diego on Friday. Avon has earned five points and four shots on net over three games this season. He's never come particularly close to a point-per-game pace in the AHL before, so it's unlikely he'll keep up this scoring rate all year. Avon will probably spend all of 2026-27 in the AHL.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Lands on waivers

Avon was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment Monday. Avon has yet to appear in an NHL game, spending the last three seasons in the AHL. Undrafted out of the OHL, the 23-year-old center notched 10 goals and 14 assists in 45 regular-season contests for AHL Coachella Valley before adding eight points in 12 playoff games.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Productive in Sunday's preseason game

Avon registered a shorthanded empty-net goal and two power-play assists in Sunday's 4-2 preseason win over the Flames. Avon had his best AHL season in 2025-26 -- he delivered 10 goals and 24 points over 45 regular-season contests with Coachella Valley. The undrafted forward has yet to make his NHL debut, and while Sunday's performance is encouraging, Avon doesn't need to be on fantasy managers' radars at this time.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Lands two-way agreement

Avon signed a one-year, two-way contract with Seattle on Monday. During the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Coachella Valley, Avon supplied 10 goals and 24 points in 45 regular-season games before adding seven tallies and one assist in 12 playoff outings. He doesn't have any NHL playing time yet, and it wouldn't be surprising if he spends most of 2026-27 in the minors.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Tallies twice Wednesday

Avon scored two goals in AHL Coachella Valley's 3-0 win over Ontario in Game 1 on Wednesday. Avon put up 24 points over 45 regular-season appearances, his best output in three AHL campaigns. He's already at three goals and an assist over four playoff contests. The 22-year-old doesn't seem to be close to a potential NHL debut given his offensive output, and if it happens in the coming years, he projects as more of a defensive forward.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Dealt to Seattle

Avon was traded to Seattle from Philadelphia in exchange for Tucker Robertson on Thursday. Avon has spent the last two seasons with AHL Lehigh Valley, managing seven goals and 10 assists across 60 regular-season games in 2024-25. He will likely suit up for AHL Coachella Valley during the 2025-26 campaign.
