  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Notches two helpers

Svechnikov posted two assists and three shots, fueling the Hurricanes to a 5-4 overtime win over the Kings on Tuesday. Svechnikov picked up an assist on Brent Burns' opening goal, dropping the puck off to the blueliner, who eventually sniped it past Pheonix Copley. He would also add a helper on Teuvo Teravainen's power-play goal to tie the game at 4-4. This game gives Svechnikov multiple points in two of his last three games, and it ups his point total to nine in the month of January. On the season, the 2018 second overall pick has 19 goals and 41 points in 50 games.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Two helpers against Sharks

Svechnikov recorded two assists in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over San Jose. The 22-year-old was the set-up man for Martin Necas' tying and winning goals. Svechnikov hasn't found the back of the net himself in 12 straight games, but he's stayed somewhat productive with seven helpers over that stretch. On the season, he has 19 goals and 39 points in 48 contests, but a true breakout for the 2018 second overall pick remains elusive.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Two helpers in win

Svechnikov picked up two assists in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Wild. The 22-year-old sniper let someone else get the glory this time around, as Svechnikov picked up multiple helpers in a game for the first time since Nov. 4. He's also stuck in a nine-game goal drought, his longest of the year, so it's reassuring to see he can contribute fantasy value even when he isn't finding the back of the net. On the season, Svechnikov has 19 goals and 37 points through 45 games -- solid numbers, but it still feels like the second overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft has another level he hasn't reached yet.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Supplies helper Saturday

Svechnikov added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets. Svechnikov's productivity has slowed down in recent weeks. He registered 24 points in his first 23 games but has just 10 points in his last 17 games since the beginning of December. Despite the recent drop in production, Svechnikov's still on pace to finish the season with close to the 69 points he posted last year.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Strikes on power play

Svechnikov scored a power-play goal on five shots and added four PIM in Friday's 4-0 win over the Panthers. Svechnikov's second-period marker doubled the Hurricanes' lead to 2-0. He wraps up a rather quiet December with five tallies and three assists in 13 outings after posting better than a point-per-game pace in the first two months of the campaign. The 22-year-old is up to 19 goals, 32 points (11 on the power play), 112 shots on net, 73 hits, 24 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 36 contests overall.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Goal and assist help pace win

Svechnikov had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 overtime win over Dallas on Saturday. He scored in the first when he skated the puck in from his own blue line and wired a wrist shot from the right face-off circle. He then set up Martin Necas for the OT winnner. Svechnikov has a goal in each of his last two games and 17 overall (29 points), but his 18.5 shooting percentage is well above his career mark (12.3). There will be some regression at some point.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Scores opening goal vs. Seattle

Svechnikov found the back of the net in a 3-2 win over Seattle on Thursday. Svechnikov scored at 10:10 of the first period to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 edge. He has 16 goals and 27 points in 29 contests this season. The 22-year-old entered the game with just a goal and two points in his last five games, so Svechnikov had been working through a bit of a colder stretch. Perhaps his marker against the Kraken will get him going again.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Gets 100th career goal in hat trick

Svechnikov scored a hat trick Thursday in a 7-2 win over the Oilers. It was his third career hattie. And the third goal -- a pretty play where he followed his own shot at the left post and lifted a backhand under the crossbar to make it 6-2 -- was his 100th NHL goal. Thursday was a nice slump breaker for Svechnikov. After putting in six goals in his first four games, he'd put up just two goals over his next nine contests. But now, Svechnikov is third overall on the NHL goal list with 11. Snipers tend to score in bunches, so this could be the start of a nice little run.

Svechnikov notched a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Maple Leafs. Svechnikov set up Stefan Noesen's first-period tally. The assist was Svechnikov's fourth in the last three games -- a goal on Halloween makes it a four-game point streak for the star winger. The 22-year-old has eight tallies, six helpers, seven power-play points, 40 shots on net, 21 hits and a minus-1 rating through 12 contests this season.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Dishes pair of assists

Svechnikov recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and three shots on goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Sabres. Svechnikov's goal-scoring skill has been on display early in the year, but he showed off a little playmaking in this contest. He helped out on goals by Sebastian Aho and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Svechnikov has eight tallies, five helpers, 40 shots on net, 20 hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating through 11 appearances. He's picked up six power-play points. The 22-year-old appears to have upped his game a bit and could challenge for a point-per-game pace.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: First hat trick not enough

Svechnikov posted a hat trick, seven shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers. Svechnikov was spectacular Thursday, but few of his teammates were able to say the same. The hat trick was his first in the regular season, and he now has six goals, two assists, 18 shots and a plus-2 rating through four contests. He's been a solid-to-good winger over the last three years, but we could be witnessing a true breakout campaign for the 22-year-old, who was selected second overall in 2018.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Secures win with three-point game

Svechnikov scored two goals on six shots and added an assist in Monday's 5-1 win over the Kraken. Svechnikov was involved in all three of the Hurricanes' second-period tallies. One of his goals and his assist came on the power play. He's yet to be held off the scoresheet this season, racking up three goals, two assists, 11 shots on net, three hits and a plus-3 rating in three contests. His goal-scoring pace will slip eventually, but Svechnikov's top-six role in a strong offense should give fantasy managers no worries about his overall production.
