Prosvetov posted a 3.16 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 11 regular-season contests with the Avalanche last season. He also had a 2.33 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 21 regular-season AHL outings with the Eagles. Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Added to NHL roster
Rotowire
Prosvetov was recalled from AHL Colorado on Monday.
Prosvetov will switch places with Arvid Holm, who was sent down in a corresponding move. Unlike Holm, the 25-year-old Prosvetov has NHL experience, albeit limited, having played in 24 games for the Coyotes and Avalanche over the last four seasons. In those appearances, the backstop is 8-9-2 with a 3.70 GAA and a .881 save percentage. With Justus Annunen still under the weather, it appears the Avalance want a more experienced reserve option behind Alexandar Georgiev.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Waived Saturday
Rotowire
Prosvetov was waived by Colorado on Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Prosvetov has a 4-3-1 record, 3.16 GAA and .895 save percentage in 11 contests this season. He's been serving as the Avalanche's backup goaltender because Pavel Francouz (groin) underwent surgery during the offseason and isn't expected to play in 2023-24. It's not clear why Prosvetov was waived, but Colorado may intend to recall Justus Annunen, who has a 2.65 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 23 outings with AHL Colorado in 2023-24.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Gets hook against Florida
Rotowire
Prosvetov allowed four goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Alexandar Georgiev midway through the second period of Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Panthers.
Florida jumped out to a 3-0 lead before eight minutes had elapsed in the first period, but Colorado rallied to tie it with a hot start to the second. When Prosvetov gave up a fairly soft goal from distance to flip the momentum back toward the Panthers, the 24-year-old got the hook. It was the backup's first action since Dec. 16, as Georgiev had started every game in between, and Prosvetov's performance isn't likely to encourage coach Jared Bednar to give him more work. On the season, he's 4-3-1 in 11 outings with a 3.16 GAA and .895 save percentage.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Slated to face Panthers
Rotowire
Prosvetov is expected to start at home against Florida on Saturday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Prosvetov hasn't played since Dec. 16 because the Avalanche have been leaning heavily on Alexandar Georgiev. Prosvetov's first start in weeks will be a tough one -- the Panthers are red hot, having won their last six contests. The 24-year-old goaltender is 4-3-1 with a 2.84 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 10 outings this campaign.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Can't overcome tough start by mates
Rotowire
Prosvetov made 19 saves on 24 shots in a 6-2 loss to Winnipeg on Saturday.
The Jets roared out of the gate hard and fast in the first period, and the Avs did not. The team never recovered from its bad start, and Provetsov didn't have a miracle stuffed in his pads. The netminder had won two straight, including one in relief, but he has also lost twice in his past four outings. He has allowed five goals in each of those defeats. He can be rostered as a solid depth option, but be careful not to overrate him.

Rotowire
Prosvetov stopped 29 of 30 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.
Prosvetov picked up a win in a relief outing Monday against Calgary and followed it up with a strong start Wednesday. The 24-year-old has allowed 10 goals over his last five appearances (four starts). For the season, Prosvetov is up to 4-2-1 with a 2.49 GAA and a .919 save percentage. The Avalanche may find favorable matchups for the 24-year-old to get him in the crease more often with Alexandar Georgiev struggling. The Avalanche have a back-to-back over the weekend with a road game in Winnipeg on Saturday followed by a home matchup with the Sharks on Sunday.

Rotowire
Prosvetov is expected to start in Wednesday's home game against Buffalo, per Meghan Angley of DNVR Avalanche.

With Alexandar Georgiev struggling -- he has a 3.00 GAA and an .896 save percentage through 23 outings this year -- Prosvetov will get a chance to build off that successful relief effort. The 24-year-old netminder has a 3-2-1 record, 2.75 GAA and .912 save percentage in eight outings this campaign. The Sabres are tied for 24th offensively in 2023-24 with 2.90 goals per game.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Gives up five goals in loss
Rotowire
Prosvetov allowed five goals on 34 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers.
Prosvetov has played in three of the last seven games, but he didn't make a great case to be more involved in this one. The five goals allowed were a season high for the 24-year-old netminder, who has done little to challenge Alexandar Georgiev's grip on the starting role. Prosvetov is down to 2-2-1 with a 2.92 GAA and a .906 save percentage through seven outings. The Avalanche have a back-to-back next weekend with a game in Winnipeg on Saturday followed by a home game versus the Sharks on Sunday -- that may be Prosvetov's next chance to play.

The 24-year-old goalie is at 2-1-1 with a 2.45 GAA and a .919 save percentage over six contests this season. Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Sharp in win
Rotowire
Prosvetov stopped 29 of 30 shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Flames.
The Avalanche built up their lead over the first two periods, and Prosvetov was able to keep the Flames at bay in the third. This was his second win in five outings (three starts) this season. The 24-year-old has allowed just eight goals on 99 shots with a 2-1-0 record, but he'll likely need to string multiple strong performances together before he'd be a threat to carve into Alexandar Georgiev's significant share of the workload as the Avalanche's starter. Expect Georgiev to be between the pipes at home Monday versus the Lightning.

Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Shaky in relief
Rotowire
Prosvetov allowed two goals on 14 shots in relief of Alexandar Georgiev in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Blues.
The Blues didn't ease up in the third period, and Prosvetov gave up a pair of goals over the final five minutes. The 24-year-old has made two starts and two relief appearances this season, allowing seven goals on 69 shots. Georgiev has struggled of late, but Prosvetov hasn't shown enough consistency in a backup role to ease some of the starter's heavy burden. The Avalanche are on the road for Monday's game versus the Kraken, a team that scored four times on 22 shots against Prosvetov on Thursday.

Rotowire
Prosvetov allowed four goals on 22 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Kraken.

Prosvetov has allowed five goals on 55 shots over his three appearances. The 24-year-old should be back on the bench when the Avalanche host the Blues on Saturday with Alexandar Georgiev likely to be between the pipes.

Prosvetov will guard the home crease versus Seattle on Thursday, per Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports.
It will be Prosvetov's second start of the season as he stopped 27 shots in a 4-1 win over St. Louis on Nov. 1. The netminder spent the last three seasons in the Arizona system, playing 13 games with the Coyotes and winning four times. Prosvetov was claimed off waivers from the Coyotes before the start of the season and has spent most of his time on the bench watching Alexandar Georgiev handle the bulk of the load. The Avalanche play the Kraken, who have scored 34 goals in 13 games this season.
