  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Supplies pair of helpers Sunday

MacLean recorded two assists, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals. MacLean earned his first multi-point effort of the season by assisting on both of linemate Marc Gatcomb's tallies in the contest. The 25-year-old MacLean also snapped a six-game point drought. He's served in a fourth-line role throughout 2024-25, earning four goals, seven assists, 56 shots on net, 101 hits, 27 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 75 appearances. That's just a little better than his nine-point showing as a rookie over 32 games in 2023-24, though offense has been hard to come by for many of the Islanders' players.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Slated to play

MacLean (illness) warmed up on the fourth line, indicating he will be available to play Tuesday versus the Kings, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. MacLean missed Sunday's game versus the Ducks, but that looks to be the extent of the 25-year-old's absence. With MacLean back, Scott Mayfield is set to be a healthy scratch as the Islanders continue to carry nine blueliners on the active roster.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Game-time call in LA

MacLean (illness) will be a game-time decision Tuesday in Los Angeles, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. MacLean sat out Sunday's 4-1 loss in Anaheim and is still dealing with some effects of his illness, per Gross. Scott Mayfield will be a healthy scratch if MacLean suits up against the Kings. If MacLean is unable to play, the Islanders will utilize 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Under the weather

MacLean is contending with an illness and will not be available Sunday in Anaheim, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. MacLean will miss his first game of the season -- he has three goals and eight points over 62 outings. The Islanders have more depth on the blue line than at forward, so Adam Boqvist will center the fourth line in place of MacLean against the Ducks.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Registers assist in loss

MacLean provided an assist in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Stars. MacLean snapped a three-game point drought. He's actually improved recently with three points over his last seven outings, but it'll be tough for him to keep it up while he's firmly on the fourth line. The 25-year-old center is up to eight points, 41 shots on net, 73 hits and a minus-10 rating through 56 appearances this season.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Gets on scoresheet with assist

MacLean notched an assist in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Flyers. MacLean ended his 17-game point drought when he set up Marc Gatcomb's first career goal. The 25-year-old MacLean has played on the fourth line regularly of late, giving him minimal upside on offense. The center has five points, 37 shots on net, 64 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 50 appearances. Still, he plays an honest defensive game, and that's enough to keep him in the lineup most of the time.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Nabs assist Sunday

MacLean notched an assist and four shots on goal in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Blackhawks. MacLean has two points over his last four games, but offense will be tough to come by since he remains in a fourth-line role. The 25-year-old center is at five points, 22 shots on net, 40 hits and a minus-5 rating over 32 appearances. He had nine points in 32 regular-season outings last year. MacLean may be scratched or moved to the wing once Bo Horvat (lower body) returns to action.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Lights lamp Friday

MacLean tallied a goal, two shots and three hits during Friday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Capitals. MacLean's second-period tally snapped an eight-game point drought for the 25-year-old. With Matthew Barzal (upper body) and Anthony Duclair (leg) nearing returns, MacLean could struggle to hang on to a regular role once the Islanders start to get healthy.

  • Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Gets on scoresheet with assist

MacLean produced an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Senators. MacLean has held down the fourth-line center job this season, but this was his first point in 14 games. He doesn't appear at risk of being scratched -- the Islanders have mostly rotated bottom-six wingers in and out of the lineup. MacLean has added nine shots on net, 20 hits and a minus-6 rating, so he doesn't need to be rostered in most fantasy formats.
