Top Ducks News

  • Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Dishes pair of assists

Granlund notched two assists, including one on the power play, and fired four shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Granlund extended his point streak to five games, and this was his second multi-point effort in a row. The 34-year-old center has two goals, five assists, three power-play points, 10 shots on net, four blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating so far this season. Granlund's production is rarely flashy, but he's consistent in a top-six role with power-play time, so he can be trusted in fantasy.

  • Ducks' Nikita Nesterenko: Goals in consecutive games

Nesterenko scored a goal on three shots and added four hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Nesterenko has scored in each of the last two games. The physical winger has two goals, six shots, 20 hits and a plus-2 rating over five appearances this season. His playing time could go up if Cutter Gauthier (upper body) is forced to miss time after exiting Saturday's contest early. Nesterenko could help in banger leagues, but he won't have widespread fantasy appeal without a power-play role.

  • Ducks' Frank Vatrano: Lights lamp Saturday

Vatrano scored a goal and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Vatrano has filled a part-time role to begin the season, as this was just his second appearance. The 32-year-old has been limited to bottom-six usage as well. Vatrano has displayed 40-point potential as recently as 2024-25, but he was held to nine points in 50 regular-season outings last year and doesn't appear to be a favorite of head coach Joel Quenneville. Vatrano could see his playing time stabilize in the near future if Cutter Gauthier (upper body) and Ryan Poehling (lower body) miss time after their injuries Saturday.

  • Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Buries power-play tally

LaCombe scored a power-play goal, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

With the tally, LaCombe extended his season-opening point streak to five games. He has a goal, four assists, four shots on net, four hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-1 rating so far this year. It wasn't all sunshine for LaCombe in this contest -- he was briefly benched during the game. Still, he's the Ducks' most reliable defenseman for fantasy, and he's already delivering on offense.

  • Ducks' Ville Husso: Picks up win in first start

Husso stopped 27 of 29 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Husso got the easier matchup in the second half of a back-to-back for the Ducks, and he got the job done. The 31-year-old netminder probably won't see a lot of work behind Lukas Dostal, but Husso is worth streaming when he gets the nod in favorable matchups. He went 10-8-2 with a 3.25 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 20 regular-season outings in 2025-26, though the Ducks' young defense appears to have taken a step forward early this season. Expect Dostal between the pipes for Tuesday's rematch against the Flames in Anaheim.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Doesn't finish contest

Poehling sustained an apparent lower-body injury in Saturday's game versus the Flames and didn't finish the contest.

Poehling was coming in on a shorthanded rush and buried his shot as he got clipped. As he fell, he went legs first into the goalpost. The 27-year-old had a goal and an assist in the contest, giving him his first points through five outings this season. An update on his status should be provided prior to Tuesday's rematch versus the Flames in Anaheim.

  • Ducks' Damian Clara: Logs first AHL shutout

Clara posted a 25-save shutout in AHL San Diego's 2-0 win over Henderson on Saturday.

This is Clara's first AHL shutout. The 21-year-old netminder has gone 1-0-1 with five goals allowed on 58 shots to open the season. The Italian netminder should see steady usage in the AHL this year after primarily playing on loans in Sweden and Finland over the last three years.

  • Ducks' Maxim Masse: Three-point game for UMass

Masse scored a goal and added two assists in UMass's 5-1 win over the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Masse made the jump to the NCAA after a dominant QMJHL season with Chicoutimi last year, where he earned 102 points in 63 regular-season games. He also had 24 points in 20 playoff outings and one goal in four contests at the Memorial Cup. Masse is a Ducks prospect who will look to continue contributing high-end offense at UMass. He has four points and a plus-1 rating over four games this season.

  • Ducks' Cutter Gauthier: Leaves Saturday's game

Gauthier (upper body) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Flames.

Gauthier was injured in the first period and ultimately ruled out for the game during the second frame. The 22-year-old's potential absence would be a big one, as he's earned four points over five games to start the season. If Gauthier is out for any stretch of time, A.J. Greer or Nikita Klepov could get chances to fill his top-six role.

  • Ducks' Ville Husso: Expected starter Saturday

Husso is set to start on the road against Calgary on Saturday, per Ducks play-by-play broadcaster Aaron Cooney.

Husso will get his first start of the season after stopping both of the shots he faced in 15:58 of ice time during a relief appearance against Edmonton on Wednesday. He had a 10-8-2 record, 3.25 GAA and .884 save percentage in 20 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. The Flames are off to a rough 0-4-0 start while averaging just 1.50 goals per game.

  • Ducks' Noah Warren: Nabs helper in win

Warren notched an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Warren has earned two helpers over his first four NHL games. He has also supplied three shots on net, six hits, five blocked and a plus-2 rating. His strong work so far was rewarded with a promotion to the top pairing Friday, which saw him log 24:12 of ice time while skating with Jackson LaCombe. Warren is more of a deep-league target at this point in fantasy, but he could pop if he sticks in the top four.

  • Ducks' Jeff Malott: Garners pair of assists

Malott notched two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Malott helped out on goals by linemates Tim Washe and Judd Caufield to help the Ducks build an early lead. Malott looks to be a fixture on Anaheim's fourth line this year. He has a goal, two assists, five shots on net, 13 hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over four appearances in that role.

  • Ducks' Beckett Sennecke: Deals two helpers in win

Sennecke notched two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Sennecke has gotten on the scoresheet in four straight games. He was moved up to the top line in this contest, essentially swapping places with Cutter Gauthier. Sennecke has three goals, three assists, 11 shots on net, eight hits, four blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-4 rating over four contests on the year. Fantasy managers worried about a sophomore slump can put those concerns to rest -- the 20-year-old winger is showing that his 60-point effort in 82 regular-season games last year was his floor, not his ceiling.

  • Ducks' Nikita Nesterenko: Fills empty cage

Nesterenko scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added three hits in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Nesterenko has started the year with the Ducks, playing in all four games so far. He was shuffled onto the second line at even strength, though his 11:58 of ice time Friday was in line with his regular usage. The goal was his first point of the season to go with three shots on net, 16 hits, two PIM and a plus-1 rating. Nesterenko will need to display a bit more offense to be a real option in most fantasy formats.

  • Ducks' Sam Colangelo: Enters lineup, scores goal

Colangelo scored a goal and added three hits in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

The Ducks did some line shuffling after getting embarrassed by the Oilers in their last game. That led to Colangelo not only entering the lineup but playing on the top line, and he scored his first goal of the campaign to extend Anaheim's lead to 3-0 in the third period. He still saw just 10:35 of ice time, but sticking in the lineup would be the next step. Over two outings this season, Colangelo has added six hits and a plus-1 rating.

  • Ducks' Judd Caulfield: Earns first NHL goal, assist

Caulfield scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, doled out three hits and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Caulfield has taken the long road to the NHL, but the Ducks are giving him a chance at steady fourth-line minutes. He put up 38 points over 71 regular-season outings with AHL San Diego last year. Caulfield's goal and assist Friday were his first at the NHL level, and he's added four shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-1 rating over four contests this season.

... See More ... See Less
  • Ducks' Tim Washe: Produces two points in win

Washe scored a goal, dished an assist, added four hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Washe and linemates Judd Caulfield and Jeff Malott were responsible for the Ducks' first two goals. The 25-year-old Washe has centered the fourth line again to start this season. He has three points, three shots on net, 12 hits, six blocks and a plus-1 rating over four appearances. Barring a move to the middle six, Washe will have a tough time generating significant fantasy value, but he should best last year's total of five points in 39 regular-season games.
