KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) E.C. Matthews scored 15 points and Rhode Island stifled Old Dominion 51-39 on Tuesday night.

The Rams (6-3) held the Monarchs (5-3) to a season-low for points for a game and a half as Rhode Island led 31-17 at the break.

Cyril Langevine had four blocks and Stanford Robinson a career-high five steals for Rhode Island.

Old Dominion made 7 of 24 shots in each half, missed all six of its 3-pointers and only made half of its 22 free throws.
