SportsLine's model just revealed its CFB picks and predictions for Air Force Falcons vs. Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, September 10

The Colorado Buffaloes renew their rivalry with the Air Force Falcons when they meet in Colorado Springs in non-conference action on Saturday. The Buffaloes (0-1) lead the all-time series 12-5, but the teams have met just once since 1974. The Falcons (1-0) outlasted Colorado 30-23 in overtime in their 2019 meeting at Boulder, Colo. The Buffaloes have won nine of the past 11 meetings. Air Force's last home win in the series was a 17-14 win in 1963.
Kickoff from Falcon Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Air Force led the nation in rushing offense in 2021, averaging 328.2 yards per game, while Colorado averaged 126.2 rushing yards. The Falcons are favored by 17.5 points in the latest Colorado vs. Air Force odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is 50.

Why Air Force can cover
The Falcons rely on a solid rushing attack. In the season-opening win over Northern Iowa, five Falcons rushed for 77 yards or more, led by Brad Roberts, who carried eight times for 114 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Haaziq Daniels carried 12 times for 107 yards and a score. Junior running back John Lee Eldridge III carried eight times for 85 yards, running back Jalen Johnson had one carry for an 80-yard touchdown and wide receiver Dane Kinamon carried twice for 77 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown.
Defensively, Air Force is powered by junior safety Trey Taylor, who led the team with eight tackles, including six solo, in the season-opening win. Taylor also had one pass breakup. Taylor was the top tackler for the Falcons in 2021, finishing the season with 62 tackles, including 39 solo. He also had one sack for 11 yards, five pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.
Why Colorado can cover
Despite that, the Falcons are not a lock to cover the Colorado vs. Air Force spread. That's partially because the Buffaloes have a reliable tight end in senior Brady Russell. Russell led Colorado in receiving in 2021, with 25 receptions for 307 yards (12.3 average). In last week's loss, Russell was among the team leaders in receptions again with three catches for 19 yards, including a long of 14 yards. For his career, Russell has 61 receptions for 665 yards (10.9 average) and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Colorado is led by senior linebacker Quinn Perry. Perry made six solo tackles against TCU, and was a staple on the defense last year. In 2021, Perry was second on the team with 78 tackles, including four tackles for loss and six for no gain. For his career, Perry has seen action in 19 games, including 11 starts, with 82 tackles, including 54 solo.
