Liberty coach shades Michigan over sign-stealing scandal after spotting Wolverines fans during game
Jamey Chadwell's comment on social media comes as Michigan faces allegations of sign stealing

Liberty is now 8-0 in its first season under coach Jamey Chadwell after the Flames posted a 42-29 victory Tuesday over Western Kentucky. While the 13-point win seemed fairly routine, Chadwell did point out a peculiar sight in the stadium after the game concluded. Two fans decked out in Michigan gear were spotted attending the game, and while it's not clear why they were on hand, Chadwell couldn't help but joke about the matter on social media given recent events.
"Is it me, or is this sus that there are Michigan fans on the 50 yard line tonight to see the Flames?" Chadwell posted while tagging Liberty's official team account.

Chadwell's comment, of course, comes as Michigan is under NCAA investigation for allegedly stealing opponents' play-call signals. Suspended Wolverines analyst Connor Stalions allegedly purchased tickets a handful of games that didn't involve Michigan -- games featuring both Big Ten opponents and potential College Football Playoff opponents -- over a three-year period.
While Liberty likely doesn't need to worry about Michigan picking off its signs, the Flames' success in Chadwell's debut campaign can't be overlooked. Liberty is now in striking distance of going undefeated in the regular season and playing for a Conference USA title. Depending on where things fall, the Flames could find themselves earning a New Year's Six bid as the designated Group of Five participant.
Liberty's next game comes Saturday, Nov. 4 at home against Louisiana Tech.
