  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Records sack in win

Oliver logged four tackles (two solo) and a sack in Sunday's 29-15 win over Atlanta.

Oliver was limited to half a sack across his first 14 appearances of the 2021 campaign, but he now has a sack in each of the last two games. He hasn't played more than 67 percent of the defensive snaps in any of his appearances this year and has had limited production in spite of his recent uptick in sacks.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Will play through ankle injury

Oliver (ankle) will be active Week 17 against Atlanta.

Oliver has recorded two or more tackles in every game since Week 11, but his status for this week was in question after he served as a limited participant in each practice session. He'll once again take on the starting defensive tackle role -- an area that will see its depth take a hit with Vernon Butler a healthy scratch.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Questionable for Sunday

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Oliver (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

It's unclear when Oliver picked up the injury, but he has been limited at each practice this week. The 24-year-old defensive tackle has yet to miss a game this season and has amassed 17 tackles (12 solo), two pass deflections, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble across his last six appearances. If he's unable to suit up, Harrison Phillips and Vernon Butler (illness) would both be candidates for increased snaps.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Will play Sunday

Oliver (chest) will play Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Oliver popped up on the injury report this week when he logged a limited practice Thursday. He was able to get in a full practice Friday and should be all set for Sunday. The third-year pro will man one of the interior spots of the Bills' defensive line Sunday against Tampa Bay.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Chest injury surfaces

Oliver was limited for Thursday's practice due to a chest injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Oliver did practice fully Wednesday, so the key question would seem to be whether he picked up the injury at some point during Thursday's session or if the team is simply managing a trench player's reps as we get to the latter part of the regular season. While Oliver doesn't make a lot of big mistakes on the field, his totals of 25 tackles and a half-sack are somewhat disappointing for a player taken ninth overall in the 2019 Draft.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Set for divisional round

Oliver (ankle) does not carry an injury designation for Saturday's divisional-round game against Baltimore.

Oliver began the week with back-to-back limited sessions, but he managed to handle full practice reps Thursday. The 2019 first-round pick is all set to handle his usual key role securing the interior of Buffalo's defensive line versus the Ravens.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Limited ahead of divisional round

Oliver was listed as a limited participant Tuesday due to an ankle injury.

The Bills had several players listed as limited for their first session of the week, so we imagine Oliver will pick things up as the prep work moves forward. The 2019 first-rounder had a modest two tackles in Saturday's win over the Colts, but as an interior defender he's less likely to put up eye-popping stats, while the coaching staff continues to praise his strong play.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Sheds injury tag

Oliver (knee) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's contest in Las Vegas.

Oliver managed to log a 'DNP/LP/FP' practice slate while dealing with a knee bruise this week, and it looks like he should be able to handle his usual starting role at defensive tackle. The 2019 first-round pick has generally floated between 50 and 70 percent of defensive snaps this season, so Quinton Jefferson and Harrison Phillips would likely see expanded roles if Oliver were to be restricted in any way.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Nursing knee bruise

Oliver did not practice Thursday due to a knee issue after practicing on a limited basis Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Rapoport says he's been told this is a knee bruise and not a structural issue, which makes sense since at one point Oliver looked to be in great pain during Sunday's win over the Rams but ended up back out there for more action. This may be something that's been bothering Oliver for a while, as he missed some practice work prior to the Week 3 contest with a knee issue before returning to full activity last Friday.

  • Bills' Ed Oliver: Ready to face Rams

Oliver (knee) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams.

Oliver began the week as a non-participant in practice, but he managed to return to full activity Friday. The second-year defensive tackle notched a sack versus Miami in Week 2, and he'll look to keep up that disruptive momentum against the Rams.
