Draft Scouting Report
Rating: 82.70 (Long-term starter)
Pro Comparison: Smaller Jonathan Greenard
Strengths:
Long, spindly outside speed rush-based edge rusher. Impressive burst. His bend really pops on film but strangely doesn't use his outside speed rush nearly enough as he should. Length, flexibility and lightness in his feet are his most appealing traits.
Weaknesses:
Hands are more active than they are effective. Has to develop his moves to NFL-caliber. Absolutely needs to get much stronger to deal with NFL blockers in the run game or simply when attacking the quarterback.
Accolades:
- 2021: All-Pac-12 second team
- 2020: Second-team All-Pac-12

49ers' Drake Jackson: Bound for Bay Area
The 49ers selected Jackson in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 61st overall.
Shortly before the draft, there was some sentiment Jackson could sneak into the latter part of the first round. That ultimately wasn't the case, but Jackson is still a nice value at the end of the second. Jackson impressed scouts with a 37-inch vertical and 127-inch broad jump at the combine. He has had an interesting pre-draft process, as he weighed in at 254 pounds at the combine and then 273 at the USC Pro Day. It will be interesting to see whether he can continue to generate pressure off the edge with the added weight.
