  • 49ers' Drake Jackson: Piles up sacks

Jackson recorded three sacks during Sunday's 30-7 win over the Steelers.

Jackson started his sophomore campaign by making a statement. After recording three sacks over his entire rookie year, the 2022 second-round selection matched that during his Week 1 outing against Pittsburgh. He'll work to keep the production rolling Sunday against the Rams.

  • 49ers' Drake Jackson: Not listed with injury

Jackson (shoulder) was not listed on the 49ers' injury report Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Jackson picked up a lingering shoulder injury during San Francisco's preseason game against the Packers on Aug. 12, but he appears to be passed this issue heading into the team's Week 1 contest against the Bears on Sunday. The 49ers' top pick of the 2022 NFL Draft should add to an already dangerous pass-rushing unit featuring fellow defensive ends Nick Bosa and Samson Ebukam this season.

  • 49ers' Drake Jackson: Suffers stinger Friday

Jackson suffered a stinger to his right shoulder during the 49ers' preseason game Friday night, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.

Jackson left Friday's game during the first half to be evaluated on the sidelines for a shoulder injury, but this issue ultimately appears to be non-serious. The rookie second-round pick out of USC figures to play a significant role as a pass rusher in third-down situations for San Francisco this coming regular season.

  • 49ers' Drake Jackson: Questionable to return

Jackson (shoulder) is questionable to return to Friday night's exhibition game against the Packers, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.

Jackson was seen entering the 49ers medical tent with a right shoulder issue Friday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The rookie second-round pick appeared to be dealing with significant pain as he walked to the locker room with his arm dangling to his side, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, so it's likely that San Francisco will be cautious when deciding whether to bring him back into the team's preseason opener.

  • 49ers' Drake Jackson: Bound for Bay Area

The 49ers selected Jackson in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 61st overall.

Shortly before the draft, there was some sentiment Jackson could sneak into the latter part of the first round. That ultimately wasn't the case, but Jackson is still a nice value at the end of the second. Jackson impressed scouts with a 37-inch vertical and 127-inch broad jump at the combine. He has had an interesting pre-draft process, as he weighed in at 254 pounds at the combine and then 273 at the USC Pro Day. It will be interesting to see whether he can continue to generate pressure off the edge with the added weight.
