Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Won't play Christmas Day
Mitchell (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Spurs, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Mitchell will miss a second consecutive game while in the league's concussion protocol, which he'll look to clear in time to return for Sunday's game against the 76ers. Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe and Alex Caruso will continue to see more minutes off the bench in Mitchell's absence.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Ruled out Tuesday
Mitchell (concussion) will not play Tuesday against the Spurs.
After leaving Monday's game early, Mitchell has since been diagnosed with a concussion. That makes it unlikely that he'll be cleared in time for Christmas Day against the Spurs. Alex Caruso, Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace could see more reps in Mitchell's absence.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Does not return Monday
Mitchell (undisclosed) exited Monday's 119-103 win over Memphis in the fourth quarter and did not return.
Mitchell headed to the back with 6:29 remaining in the final quarter and did not check back in. He finished with 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes. His status will be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's matchup against the Spurs.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Leaves for locker room
Mitchell (undisclosed) exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
It's unclear why Mitchell left for the locker room, though he checked out with 6:29 remaining in the final quarter. If he's unable to return in the final minutes, he'll finish with 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Productive off bench Thursday
Mitchell ended with 16 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 29 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 122-101 win over the Clippers.
Nine of those points came in the fourth quarter, as Mitchell took advantage of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander getting pulled early in the big win. It was the first time in five games that Mitchell scored in double digits, while the seven boards tied his season high. The second-year guard typically doesn't see that kind of shot volume -- he last attempted double-digit field goals against the Jazz on Nov. 21. Through six games (two starts) to begin December, Mitchell is averaging 10.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.2 threes in 26.0 minutes a contest despite shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent (7-for-15) from long distance.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Downward trend continues
Mitchell supplied nine points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 138-89 win over the Suns.
Mitchell continues to see his role reduce, logging fewer than 20 minutes for just the third time this season. While it was a red-hot start for Mitchell, his production has plateaued of late, as Oklahoma City starts to get healthy bodies back on the floor. In three games over the past week, Mitchell has averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 23.4 minutes. It's hard to make a case for him being a must-roster player based on what we have seen during that span.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Shifts back to bench
Mitchell isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Suns, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Mitchell had started in two of OKC's last three games due to the absences of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort. However, both are healthy Wednesday, meaning Mitchell will rejoin the reserves. In 17 appearances with the second unit, Mitchell is averaging 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals across 25.2 minutes.

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (elbow) unavailable, Mitchell is getting the start, and he'll be joined in the first unit by Cason Wallace, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Williams and Chet Holmgren. Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Moving back to second unit
Mitchell will come off the bench for Friday's game against Dallas, Rylan Stiles of SI.com reports.
Mitchell started Tuesday's contest due to Luguentz Dort's (thigh) absence, and while Dort remains out Friday, the Thunder are instead going big with Jaylin Williams against Dallas. In 16 games off the bench, Mitchell is averaging 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals across 25.4 minutes per contest.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Entering starting five Tuesday
Mitchell is in the Thunder's starting lineup against the Warriors on Tuesday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Mitchell will make his sixth start of the season Tuesday and first since Nov. 12 against the Lakers due to the absence of Luguentz Dort (thigh). In five games as a starter, Mitchell has averaged 18.2 points, 4.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals over 30.2 minutes per game.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Productive off bench
Mitchell totaled 17 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 123-115 win over Portland.
Another game, another instance where Mitchell shows his worth as a versatile combo guard who can make an impact on both ends of the court. Mitchell was limited to five minutes Friday against the Suns due to a left knee contusion, but that injury didn't bother him at all Sunday. Excluding that early exit against the Suns, Mitchell has scored in double digits in all but one game this season while coming off the bench in all but five games. He's averaging 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Not listed on injury report
Mitchell (knee) isn't listed on the Warriors' injury report for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Mitchell exited Friday's win over the Suns due to a left knee contusion, though he's set to play Sunday. In his previous five games entering Friday, the second-year guard averaged 13.8 points, 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 25.6 minutes per contest.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Won't return Friday
Mitchell has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game against the Suns due to a left knee contusion, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
Mitchell's night will be cut short due to a bruised knee. He'll finish the contest scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with one assist across five minutes. His early departure snaps a streak of 11 consecutive games scoring in double figures. While Mitchell is sidelined, look for Alex Caruso and Isaiah Joe to pick up additional minutes. Mitchell's next chance to play will come Sunday in Portland.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Perfect from field in blowout win
Mitchell closed with 20 points (8-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound, four assists and two steals over 24 minutes during Sunday's 122-95 win over the Trail Blazers.
Mitchell missed only two free throws in what ended up being a dominant scoring effort. This was his first game with at least 20 points since Nov. 9, but it extended his streak of double-digit scoring performances to 10 games. Over that stretch, the Sixth Man of the Year candidate is averaging 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 38.7 percent from three-point range.

Mitchell racked up 13 points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals over 29 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 113-99 victory over the Kings.
The second-year point guard continues to provide consistent secondary scoring for the Thunder in what's shaping up to be a breakout campaign. Mitchell has scored in double digits in eight straight games (five starts), averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 boards, 1.9 steals and 1.0 threes in 29.6 minutes a contest.
