Angels' Chris Rodriguez: Undergoes back surgery

Rodriguez underwent surgery for a pars defect (a stress fracture in his lower spine) Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Back issues cost Rodriguez the entirety of the 2018 season, and he made just three short starts this year before landing on the injured list. It's not clear when he's expected to return.
