Blue Jays' Darwin Barney: Earns second straight start

Barney will start at second base and bat seventh Sunday against the Mariners, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

With Devon Travis (knee) on the disabled list, the Blue Jays will count on excellent defense and whatever offense they can get out of Barney and Ryan Goins, who have both seen time on the keystone in the last handful of games. With Barney receiving his second straight Sunday, he may have inched ahead in the competition, but both players will struggle to find relevance outside of AL-only leagues regardless of who wins out in the job battle.
