Garcia allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over three innings while striking out four in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates.
He served up a two-run homer to Pittsburgh prospect Austin Meadows in the first inning, but Garcia settled down after that. The veteran lefty will attempt to provide some stability to the Braves' rotation this season, but his injury history suggests the team will need to dip into its farm system to replace Garcia at some point during the season.
