Weigel was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Friday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Weigel has thrown four major-league innings this season, allowing two runs while posting a 9:4 K:BB. With a 6.84 ERA and 1.72 WHIP in 25 innings for Triple-A Nashville, he seemingly stands a good chance of passing through waivers unclaimed.
