Abbott was released by the Mariners on Wednesday.
Abbott was briefly in big-league camp with Seattle but was reassigned in early March. He threw 39.1 innings in the majors last season, though he posted a 6.64 ERA and 1.70 WHIP. He'll look to latch on with a new team and will likely serve as organizational depth.
