Cubs' Dixon Machado: Nets minor-league deal

The Cubs signed Machado to a minor-league contract Wednesday.

Machado, who turns 33 later this month, spent the 2024 season at Triple-A Sugar Land in the Astros organization, posting just a .617 OPS in 45 contests. He's seen action in just five major-league games since 2019 and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Iowa to begin the 2025 campaign.
