David Dahl: Elects free agency

Dahl was released by the Padres on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Dahl elected to become a free agent after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The oft-injured 29-year-old outfielder drew only nine major-league plate appearances during his stay in the Padres organization and recorded just one hit.
