Marlins' Jake Fishman: Designated for assignment

Fishman was designated for assignment Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Fishman allowed just one earned run over 3.1 innings in his big-league debut Sunday, but the Marlins decided to remove him from the roster to open up a spot for fellow pitcher Jesus Luzardo. If Fishman goes through waivers unclaimed, he could either remain with the Marlins or decide to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
