Givens threw a bullpen session Tuesday and could progress to live batting practice by Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Signed as a non-roster invitee over the weekend, Givens is ramping things up in a hurry in hopes of convincing the Marlins to carry him on their Opening Day roster. The veteran reliever was limited to just six appearances last season because of shoulder issues but appears to be healthy now.
