Mets' Logan Porter: Designated for assignment

The Mets designated Porter for assignment Tuesday.

Porter is being jettisoned from the 40-man roster to make room for Huascar Brazoban, who was acquired in a trade with Miami on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Porter hasn't played in the majors yet this year, though his .853 OPS in Triple-A could attract some attention on the waiver wire from other clubs in need of organizational depth behind the plate.
