Matz (forearm) had an encouraging visit with the doctor Monday as no ligament damage was found in his arm, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

The Mets are expected to provide an official report on Matz on Tuesday, but his status for the upcoming week is up in the air despite the good news Monday. Matz has not pitched since May 9 against the Dodgers. Logan Verrett is expected to handle any turns in the rotation that Matz is unable to take in the near future.
