The Orioles designated Vallimont for assignment Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Vallimont was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday and a day later he's lost his spot on the 40-man roster. The righty reliever will now go through the waiver process.
