Padres' Ben Gamel: Dropped from 40-man roster

Gamel was designated for assignment by the Padres on Thursday.

Gamel appeared in only six games during his three-week stay in the majors and went 3-for-15 (.200) with a double and two singles. Glenn Otto, claimed off waivers from the Rangers, will fill the vacated 40-man roster spot.
