Hanhold was claimed off waivers by the Pirates on Wednesday, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
Hanhold allowed eight runs over 10.1 innings for the Orioles this season and was recently removed from the 40-man roster. He also struggled at Triple-A Norfolk with a 5.54 ERA across 26 innings.
