Perez's contract was selected by the Rays on Saturday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Perez has one career MLB appearance under his belt, giving up two runs in 1.2 innings for the Blue Jays back in 2020. He's given up six runs in seven innings for Triple-A Durham this season but has also struck out 13 batters. Cooper Criswell was optioned in a corresponding move.
