Heineman was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
Heineman was sent to the minors Tuesday, but he'll now return to the major-league roster after right-hander Lucas Sims (elbow) was placed on the injured list Thursday. The 28-year-old saw inconsistent playing time during his first big-league stint this year and hit .077 with two homers, five runs and three RBI across 26 at-bats.
