The Nationals released Armenteros on Monday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
The righty appeared in 10 games for Triple-A Rochester this season, posting a 6.08 ERA and 42:25 K:BB in 40 innings. He hasn't pitched at that level since June 29, though, as he's been out since then with an injury. Armenteros threw a scoreless inning Saturday in the Florida Complex League, but he's likely too early in the rehab process to draw interest from MLB teams this season. He hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2019, when he had a 4.00 ERA in five games with the Astros.
