Royals' Frank Schwindel: DFA'd by Kansas City

Schwindel (oblique) was designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Schwindel is currently on the 7-day injured list due to an oblique strain, but he's been booted off the 40-man roster to make room for Nicky Lopez.
