Geltz declined his assignment to Triple-A and elected to become a free agent on Wednesday.
This was a weird string of events, as the Brewers claimed Adam Walker, then DFA'd him to claim Geltz, then lost Walker on waivers and will now lose Geltz to free agency after designating him for assignment. He will look to catch on elsewhere as bullpen depth for 2017.
