The Rockies returned Rule 5 pick Petit (elbow) to the Tigers on Tuesday.
Petit was taken in the Rule 5 Draft by Colorado last winter but never pitched for the Rockies, as he missed the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery with an internal brace on his right elbow in March. The 6-foot-8 right-hander should be ready to pitch right around midseason in 2027.
