Perez was scratched from the lineup Sunday against the Yankees due to an illness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Perez was penciled in for his seventh consecutive start but will instead hit the bench due to an illness. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Cleveland.
