Perez (oblique) began a running progression Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Perez has been recovering well from his left oblique strain and began hitting earlier this week prior to running. The 24-year-old has been sidelined since Aug. 10 and remains a few weeks away from returning.
