Gordon (illness) cleared COVID-19 protocols Tuesday and will begin a rehab assignment at the team's spring training facility in Fort Myers, Fla., Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Gordon tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of July, but he'll finally be able to resume activity. It's unclear what shape the 24-year-old is in or whether he'll be available as depth for the Twins at some point in 2020, but Minnesota will forgo adding him to its 60-man player pool until assessing him at Fort Myers.
