Jerez elected free agency Thursday, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.
Jerez failed to make it onto the Pirates' major-league roster this season and will now test the open market this winter. The southpaw struck out nine while posting a 4.35 ERA across 10.1 innings with the Giants and Pirates in 2019.
