The 32-year-old supplied the only offense for the Pirates when he crushed a Matthew Liberatore pitch nearly into the Allegheny River. This was Lowe's 34th home run of the year, which is his most since the 2021 season when he hit 39 for the Rays. Lowe has been hot in September, slashing .338/.413/.620 with two doubles, six homers, 12 RBI and 12 runs.

Turang went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Phillies.
Turang opened the scoring in the first inning with a 406-foot blast off Aaron Nola, his career-high 20th homer this season. The 26-year-old Turang has been on a tear down the stretch, going 22-for-54 (.407) over his last 17 games. He's now slashing .265/.365/.444 with 99 runs scored, 94 RBI and 19 stolen bases across 662 plate appearances this year.

Edman went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI against the Padres in a 7-0 victory Tuesday.
Edman kicked off the scoring in the contest when he walked with the bases loaded in the second inning. The utility man drove in another run in the sixth when he slugged a solo shot to left-center field. Edman has gone deep in each of his past two contests following an ice-cold 12-game stretch during which he went 2-for-39. He's slashing .245/.330/.386 with eight homers, 43 runs, 40 RBI and six stolen bases through 80 games this season.

Giants' Osleivis Basabe: Battling hamstring tightness
Manager Tony Vitello said that Basabe was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins due to hamstring tightness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Basabe's hamstring has reportedly been bothering him for a few days now, and the Giants decided to err on the side of caution and pull him out of Tuesday's contest early. He doesn't seem to be bound for the injured list, though the Giants may give him a day or two off to ensure his hamstring doesn't become a larger issue.

Edwards (thumb) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
Edwards will miss a second straight start due to a thumb injury that he picked up during Saturday's game against the Padres. While he recovers, Jared Serna will start at the keystone and bat ninth.

Mayer started at designated hitter and went 0-for-4 in Monday's 5-2 win over the Twins.
Mayer came up empty at the plate, striking out in all four at-bats in his team debut. Monday marked the 23-year-old's first big-league action since June 25. He initially dealt with a left forearm stress reaction with the Red Sox before suffering a bone bruise in his right foot during rehab after being traded to the Giants. In 232 big-league plate appearances in 2026, Mayer is hitting .215/.277/.306 with three homers, 22 RBI, 19 runs and three stolen bases.

The Giants activated Mayer (forearm/foot) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Mayer has not played in the majors since late June, when he suffered a left forearm stress reaction while still in the Red Sox organization. He was also forced to slow his rehab due to a bone bruise in his right foot, but the infielder seems to have put both injuries in the rear-view mirror and will make his Giants debut at designated hitter Monday. Mayer has slashed .223/.278/.346 in 114 contests thus far at the big-league level.

Edman got the Dodgers on the board with a solo shot in the sixth inning. It marked the utility man's first homer since Sept. 5, as he went just 4-for-43 (.093) in 13 games during the dry spell. In 92 contests this season, Edman is slashing .245/.328/.376 with seven homers, 38 RBI, 41 runs and six stolen bases.
