Semien isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Rockies' Adael Amador: Exiting starting lineup

Amador is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Padres.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Rockies' Willi Castro: Rules self out for season

Castro (heel/knee) said Wednesday that he will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, MLB.com reports.

Castro has been on the injured list since Sept. 5 due to left heel plantar fasciitis and right knee soreness, and rather than attempting to ramp back up with the hope of playing in the final week and a half of the season, he's instead elected to shut himself down. After joining the Rockies on a two-year deal over the winter, the 29-year-old slashed .260/.331/.417 with 15 home runs, 10 stolen bases, 65 runs and 56 RBI in 120 games during his first season in Colorado.

  • Ivan Johnson 2B | CIN

Reds' Ivan Johnson: Shelved at Triple-A

Triple-A Louisville placed Johnson on its 7-day injured list Sept. 10 due to an unspecified injury.

After being optioned to Louisville on Sept. 4, Johnson played in just two games before being shut down with the injury. Prior to his demotion, Johnson had played sparingly at the big-league level over three stints with the Reds on the season, going just 1-for-16 with three walks and two stolen bases.

  • Matt McLain 2B | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Steals base in win

McLain went 1-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Dodgers.

This was the second game back from a shoulder injury for McLain. The stolen base was his 18th in 125 games, tying the career high he set last season over 147 regular-season contests.

  • Juan Brito 2B | CIN

Reds' Juan Brito: Moves to outfield

Brito started in right field and went 3-for-3 with an RBI in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Dodgers.

Brito, normally an infielder, made his first start in the outfield at any level this season and was eventually replaced in the late innings. He's hit safely in five consecutive games (9-for-17) and is 13-for-32 (.406) with two home runs and nine RBI over 11 contests since joining the Reds on Sept. 1.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

    Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers again

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Wednesday against the Brewers.

Lowe knotted the game at 3-3 with his two-run homer in the fifth inning. It was his second consecutive game with a long ball, bringing his total for the season to 31. Lowe is enjoying an excellent campaign overall, and he's ending the year strong with three home runs, six RBI and eight runs scored while hitting .354 across 13 games in September.

  • JJ Wetherholt 2B | STL

Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Activated from 10-day IL

The Cardinals activated Wetherholt (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Wetherholt was scheduled to go through a full pregame workout Tuesday, and he came out of it with no concerns, clearing the way for his return. He's starting at second base and batting leadoff Wednesday versus the Giants. The rookie infielder has been sidelined since late August with right wrist tendinitis. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Wetherholt will play just six innings Wednesday as he eases back into a full-time role, John Denton of Roundtable.io reports.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Clubs homer No. 30

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Brewers.

The second baseman supplied the only offense for the Pirates when he bashed a DL Hall fastball off the right-field foul pole in the eighth inning. It was Lowe's 30th homer of the season, marking the third time in his career he's reached that plateau, and he's been locked in to close out the campaign. Over his last 14 games, Lowe has delivered a .346/.424/.558 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, six RBI and 10 runs.

  • Alex Freeland 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Alex Freeland: Goes yard in Tuesday's win

Freeland went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Reds.

The 25-year-old has been the Dodgers' primary second baseman against right-handed pitching in September, and Tuesday's long ball off Pierce Johnson was his first in the majors since May 31. Since rejoining the Dodgers when rosters expanded at the beginning of the month, Freeland has produced a .258/.378/.419 slash line in 37 plate appearances with one homer, two doubles, two steals, two RBI and six runs.
