  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Dealing with side issue

Pauley wasn't available for Sunday's 5-3 win over the Red Sox due to right side tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Even if he was fully healthy, the left-handed-hitting Pauley likely would have sat out Sunday anyway while lefty Garrett Crochet took the hill for the Red Sox, but the injury now threatens the third baseman's availability for the Marlins' upcoming series with the Cardinals that begins Monday. If Pauley's side issue is deemed serious enough to send him to the injured list, Infielder Maximo Acosta could be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

  • Paul DeJong 3B | WAS

Nationals' Paul DeJong: Hits late homer

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 11-9 loss to the Phillies.

DeJong tried to spark a comeback Sunday, tagging Max Lazar for a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to make it a two-run game. His long ball prompted the Phillies to insert closer Jhoan Duran, who immediately shut the door. DeJong has been on a heater recently, having hit five home runs in his last 10 games and going 12-for-39 (.308) during that stretch.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Goes yard in return

Bohm went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 11-9 win over Washington.

Bohm appeared in an MLB game for the first time in almost a month after suffering a left rib fracture, and he didn't miss a beat. The third baseman swatted his ninth home run of the campaign, tagging Mitchell Parker for a three-run homer in the second inning. Bohm is now one round tripper away from his fourth straight season with double-digit home runs. In 388 plate appearances, Bohm is slashing .280/.327/.401.

  • Alex Freeland SS | LAD

Dodgers' Alex Freeland: Posts first steal

Freeland went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Padres.

Freeland's major-league career started well, but he's gone just 2-for-25 with seven walks and 10 strikeouts over his last 10 games. He's still seeing a decent share of playing time as the Dodgers try to plug holes in an infield missing Max Muncy (oblique), Tommy Edman (ankle) and Enrique Hernandez (elbow). Sunday's steal was the first of Freeland's career, and he's batting .167 with two RBI and six runs scored over his first 15 contests.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Taking seat Sunday

Mauricio is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Mauricio will head to the bench for the series finale after he started in each of the Mets' last three contests while going 2-for-11 with a stolen base and a run. With Mauricio bowing out of the lineup, Mark Vientos will pick up a start at the hot corner.

  • Jose Tena SS | WAS

Nationals' Jose Tena: Demoted after Sunday's game

The Nationals optioned Tena to Triple-A Rochester following Sunday's 11-9 loss to the Phillies.

Making a start at second base Sunday, Tena went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and his third stolen base of the season, but the performance wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on the 26-man active roster heading into the Nationals' three-game series with the Mets, which begins Tuesday. The 24-year-old infielder has handled a limited role across his multiple stints in the big leagues this season, slashing .243/.341/.355 with no home runs, 16 RBI and 19 runs over 169 plate appearances.

  • Kyle Karros 3B | COL

Rockies' Kyle Karros: Receiving first day off

Karros is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

For the first time since he was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 8, Karros will receive a day off. The 23-year-old has kicked off his big-league career in impressive fashion, slashing .290/.389/.387 with three doubles, a 5:6 BB:K, three RBI and seven runs in nine games. Orlando Arcia will cover third base Sunday in his stead.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | ATL

Braves' Vidal Brujan: Moves back to bench role

Brujan is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

He made three starts over a five-game stretch prior to the return of Ronald Acuna from the IL, but Brujan has been stuck to the bench since. So long as Atlanta's regular outfield trio of Acuna, Michael Harris and Jurickson Profar remains healthy, Brujan will be in line for sporadic playing time.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Idle against southpaw

Pauley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Pauley will be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitters Troy Johnston, Liam Hicks and Jakob Marsee while the Red Sox send southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill. Javier Sanoja will replace Pauley at third base and will bat fifth.

  • Otto Kemp 3B | PHI

Phillies' Otto Kemp: Sent back to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Kemp to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

The rookie had started just three of the last eight games, and since his playing-time outlook wasn't going to improve with Alec Bohm (rib) returning from the injured list Sunday, the Phillies opted to send Kemp back to the minors. After getting called up from Triple-A on June 7, the 25-year-old slashed .228/.298/.359 with four home runs, one stolen base, 17 RBI and 17 runs over 46 games.
