  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Shelved with wrist inflammation

The Marlins placed Norby on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to left wrist inflammation.

Norby was held out of Saturday's lineup due to the injury and now won't be eligible for activation until July 22. In a corresponding move, the Marlins recalled infielder Graham Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville, and he could see the bulk of the starts at third base while Norby is out. The Marlins could also use Javier Sanoja on the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Pauley.

  • Matt Shaw SS | CHC

Cubs' Matt Shaw: Benched for third straight game

Shaw is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Shaw will close out of the Cubs' first-half schedule having been held out of the lineup for three consecutive games and four of the last five, and he's managed just one hit in 26 at-bats to begin July. Vidal Brujan will get the start at third base after Jon Berti filled in for Shaw over the past two contests, but the Cubs may look to the trade market for an upgrade at the position if the organization isn't convinced that Shaw will be able to improve his offensive production coming out of the All-Star break.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Goes yard twice in loss

Suarez went 2-for-3 with a walk, two solo home runs and a third run scored in Saturday's 10-5 loss to the Angels.

The slugging third baseman took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the second and fourth inning, but those were the only runs the Arizona offense produced until the game was well out of hand. Suarez is up to 31 homers on the season in only 94 contests, already eclipsing the 30 long balls he launched in 2024, and the 33-year-old is on pace to top the career-best 49 home runs he delivered in 2019 with the Reds.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Unlikely to play Sunday

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said after Saturday's 5-4 loss to San Diego that Bohm (ribs) is doubtful to play in Sunday's series finale, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Bohm was hit by a pitch in the left ribs during the second inning Saturday, though he was able to stay in the game for another two frames. Thomson said after the contest that Bohm didn't get an MRI, but he explained that Bohm is "pretty sore," adding that the injury may have affected the third baseman's swing. Sunday is the final game of the first half for Philadelphia, so if Bohm sits out, he'll have five full days to recover before the start of the second half Friday. Edmundo Sosa took over at third base following Bohm's exit and could start at the hot corner Sunday.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Exits game with bruised rib

Bohm was pulled from Saturday's contest against San Diego due to a bruised left rib, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Bohm was plunked by a pitch in the ribs in the second inning but initially remained in the contest, and he even rounded the bases to score in that frame. He had another at-bat in the third but was replaced defensively by Edmundo Sosa in the bottom of the fourth frame. Given that he wasn't yanked immediately, Bohm may not be dealing with a major injury, though the Phillies could opt to hold him out of the lineup Sunday to give him ample time to recover given that it's the final game before the All-Star break.

  • Brady House SS | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Connects for first two homers

House went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers.

House failed to hit a homer in his first 21 major-league games before double dipping Saturday. He hit a solo shot in the fourth inning and a go-ahead two-run blast in the eighth. The 22-year-old has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, going 13-for-42 (.310) in that span. Overall, he's batting .270 with a .691 OPS, two homers, 12 RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases across 94 plate appearances to begin his career.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Working out on stationary bike

Muncy (knee) has begun using a stationary bike, and manager Dave Roberts said Friday that the third baseman is "trending really well," per MLB.com.

Muncy suffered a left knee bone bruise July 2 and was placed on the 10-day injured list the following day. He's likely to miss at least six weeks of action, so mid-August seems to be the earliest target for his return. Tommy Edman and Miguel Rojas have been handling duties at the hot corner while Muncy has been out.

  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Sitting with sore hand

Norby isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore due to left hand soreness, Nate Karzmer of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Norby has collected a base hit in each of his last five games, but he'll take a day off Saturday to recover from a hand injury that popped up during his final plate appearance Friday. Javier Sanoja will get the nod to start at third base instead while batting ninth.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Absent from Saturday's lineup

Mauricio is not in Saturday's lineup against the Royals.

Mauricio likely would have been in Saturday's lineup, but Angel Zerpa has replaced Michael Lorenzen (illness) as the starting pitcher for the Royals. With a lefty now on the mound, Mauricio will shift to the bench with Tyrone Taylor entering the lineup to man center field.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Sitting out Saturday

Arenado (finger) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Atlanta.

Arenado sprained his right index finger during Friday's contest -- the second time he's done so in the past two weeks. He'll take a day off to heal Saturday, and the Cardinals may opt to keep him on the bench until play resumes following the All-Star break.
