    Bregman went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a double and four RBI during Wednesday's 8-4 win over Atlanta.

    Bregman got the Cubs on the board early with an RBI double in the first inning before adding a solo homer in the fourth and a two-run triple in the fifth, falling a single shy from recording the first cycle of his major-league career. The veteran third baseman has had his ups and downs this season, but he's been plenty productive overall with a robust .812 OPS, 26 home runs, 88 RBI and three steals across 681 plate appearances this season.

    House is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Phillies.

    House manned third base in the first game of the series Tuesday, but he'll take a seat in this one. Jorbit Vivas will cover the hot corner for the Nationals on Wednesday.

    Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Out of Pittsburgh lineup

    Gonzales is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Brewers.

    The Pirates will go with Jacob Gonzalez at third base. Gonzales is slashing .303/.411/.368 across his last 90 plate appearances for Pittsburgh.

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Sitting versus southpaw

    Muncy is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

    The left-handed-swinging Muncy will grab a seat as the Reds send southpaw Andrew Abbott to the bump. Enrique Hernandez will man the hot corner for the Dodgers in Muncy's stead.

    Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Out of Reds' lineup

    Hayes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers.

    Hayes has now started only one of the last four contests for the Reds. Cincinnati will go with Eugenio Suarez at third base and Tyler Stephenson in the designated hitter slot.

    Cardinals' Ramon Urias: DFA'd by Cardinals

    The Cardinals designated Urias for assignment Wednesday.

    Urias has been limited to only 43 games this season due to tennis elbow in both arms, and he's slashed just .151/.260/.326 in those contests. The veteran infielder is likely to pass through waivers and reach free agency.

    Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Expected to play Wednesday

    Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said following Tuesday's game that Arenado (thumb) will be in the lineup Wednesday, Arizona Sports reports.

    Arenado was removed from Tuesday's game due to the injury that flared up following a fifth-inning at-bat. He played another inning before being replaced by Jose Fernandez. Fernandez or Ildemaro Vargas would be in line to replace Arenado at the hot corner should the thumb injury linger.

    Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Pulled with thumb injury

    Arenado was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins due to right thumb inflammation.

    Arenado went 1-for-3 before his thumb forced him out of the game in the seventh inning. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but if the 35-year-old has to miss time beyond Tuesday, Ildemaro Vargas would likely be the next man up to start at the hot corner.

    Rockies' Vimael Machin: Sent back to Triple-A

    The Rockies optioned Machin to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

    Machin appeared in three games after being getting selected from Albuquerque on Sept. 5. He went 3-for-6 while striking out twice. He's returning to Triple-A in a corresponding move to the Rockies recalling Braxton Fulford.

    Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Productive in Monday's loss

    Sanoja went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a triple, two additional RBI, an additional run scored and a stolen base in Monday's 8-7 loss to Arizona.

    After roping a two-RBI triple in the second frame, Sanoja lined a solo homer in the fourth inning. Adding to his big day, the third baseman swiped second base in the eighth inning after reaching on a fielder's choice. Sanoja has been on an extended tear at the plate, slashing .339/.378/.571 with five homers, 21 RBI, 17 runs and five stolen bases over his past 30 games. The 24-year-old has put together a quietly strong 2026 campaign overall, hitting .293/.333/.454 with nine homers, 63 RBI, 47 runs and 11 stolen bases in 133 contests.
