Davis is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Cubs.

Davis started behind the plate in Tuesday's 4-1 loss, but Wednesday will mark the third time he's been out of the lineup over the last four contests. Prior to that, he had started four times over a five-game stretch. Joey Bart will step in behind the dish and bat fifth Wednesday.

Flores will start at first base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game versus the Cubs.

Flores was summoned from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday and will make his major-league debut Wednesday. The Pirates started Henry Davis at catcher Tuesday and are going with Joey Bart behind the plate Wednesday, so the team may not intend to give Flores extended run behind the plate down the stretch. He will, however, get his feet wet at first base, filling in for a resting Spencer Horwitz.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Kelly will head to the bench for the day game after he started behind the plate Monday and Tuesday while going 3-for-9 with a double. Reese McGuire will handle catching duties for the Cubs in the series finale.

Torrens (forearm) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Torrens also played seven innings at catcher in his first game action since he landed on the 10-day injured list in early September with a right forearm contusion. He could be activated when first eligible Wednesday, especially with Francisco Alvarez (triceps) now banged up.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said the hit-by-pitch that forced Alvarez from Tuesday's game versus the Padres struck the catcher on the left triceps, and while Alvarez is sore, no X-rays are planned, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

It appeared at first glance that Alvarez was hit on the elbow by a 100-mph sinker from Bradgley Rodriguez, but Mendoza clarified that it was Alvarez's triceps. Alvarez has missed time this season on multiple occasions due to hit-by-pitches, but it seems he'll avoid an extended absence this time. Consider the Mets catcher day-to-day.

Realmuto was unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers due to illness, Lochlahn March of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

It helps explain why Realmuto didn't pinch hit for Rafael Marchan when the game was tied 6-6 in the top of the ninth inning (Marchan launched a go-ahead, three-run homer, as it turned out). Consider Realmuto day-to-day, but with the National League East clinched and an off day looming Thursday, the Phillies might choose to hold their top catcher out until Friday's series opener in Arizona.

Duno was named the MVP of the Single-A Florida State League on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

After a rib injury in 2024 limited Duno to 32 games, the catcher broke out in 2025 for Single-A Daytona. The 19-year-old paced the FSL with 18 homers, 81 RBI and a .948 OPS while finishing second in average (.287). Duno also displayed plate discipline, working 95 walks with just 81 strikeouts. With a 6-foot-2 frame, he'll need to manage his weight going forward, but his first full healthy season hinted at Duno's promise.

Marchan went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Dodgers.

Marchan put the Phillies ahead with a clutch blast in the ninth inning, and Jhoan Duran was able to close out the contest. Playing time remains sparse for Marchan, but he was in the lineup Tuesday while J.T. Realmuto rested following the Phillies' clinching of the NL East with Monday's win. Marchan is up to two homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and a .206/.284/.309 slash line across 110 plate appearances this season.

Alvarez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Padres after getting hit on the elbow by a pitch, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Alvarez was in a considerable amount of pain after taking a 100-mph sinker from Bradgley Rodriguez off his elbow in the eighth inning and was immediately replaced by a pinch runner. If Alvarez needs to miss any time, Hayden Senger would be forcing to take on starting duties with Luis Torrens (forearm) already on the shelf.

The Dodgers optioned Robinson to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Robinson joined the big club Saturday when Will Smith (hand) landed on the IL, but his services are no longer needed now that Dalton Rushing (shin) is healthy. Robinson will likely finish the year at Triple-A, where he's slashed .261/.330/.368 with 46 RBI and 41 runs scored through 75 games.
