Jose Fermin LF | STL
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Idle Saturday
Fermin isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
Fermin went 0-for-2 with a run scored Friday to snap what had been a modest four-game hitting streak, and he'll now get a chance to rest his legs while Bryan Torres starts at second base and bats leadoff.

Tyler Freeman RF | COL
Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Outrighted to ABQ
Freeman cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Freeman has slashed just .247/.317/.314 across 288 plate appearances with the Rockies this season, and he'll likely play out the remainder of the season at Triple-A after passing through waivers unclaimed. His 40-man roster spot was filled by Vimael Machin, who was selected to the active roster Saturday.

Jacob Young CF | WAS
Nationals' Jacob Young: Getting Saturday off
Young isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Owen Caissie RF | MIA
Marlins' Owen Caissie: In Saturday's lineup
Caissie (neck) will start in right field and bat sixth Saturday against the Cubs.
Neck spasms kept Caissie out of the starting lineup for each of Miami's last three games, though he was able to enter Friday's contest off the bench. Now fully healthy, he'll aim to turn things around at the plate after slashing .161/.254/.250 across 63 plate appearances since the beginning of August.

Avery Owusu-Asiedu CF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Avery Owusu-Asiedu: Posts month to remember
Owusu-Asiedu slugged 11 home runs over an 18-game stretch for Double-A Amarillo in August and was named the Texas League Player of the Month, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.
Owusu-Asiedu was promoted to Amarillo on Aug. 11 and went on an immediate tear with a 14-game hitting streak, during which he went 27-for-55 (.491) with 10 home runs, five doubles, one triple, 26 RBI, 15 runs and two stolen bases. Twice during that run he homered in four consecutive contests. Prior to his stint in Double-A, there wasn't much remarkable about Owusu-Asiedu at High-A Hillsboro, where he posted a .202/.289/.369 slash line. The 6-foot-4 outfielder is not on MLB's top-30 list of prospects for the Diamondbacks.

It was Dubon's first home run since the All-Star break, bringing him up to 11 home runs on the year and surpassing a previous career high that he set in 2023 with the Astros. Dubon has a .702 OPS with seven steals, 66 RBI and 37 extra-base hits across 536 plate appearances this season.
