  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep again Tuesday

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Reds.

Hernandez gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead with his two-run blast to left field in the third inning. It was his second long ball in as many days and his third over his past seven games. Hernandez has reached base safely in 13 of his past 14 contests, slashing a robust .417/.517/.771 with four home runs, nine runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases over that stretch. He had a quiet .706 OPS during the first half of the campaign, but since the All-Star break his OPS is at .842 across 51 games.

  • Walker Jenkins CF | MIN

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Taking seat against lefty

Jenkins is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees.

It's the second straight day that the left-handed-swinging Jenkins has been out of the lineup against a lefty (in this case, Carlos Rodon). Jenkins has really struggled early on in his big-league tenure, going 4-for-45 (.089) with a 30.2 percent strikeout rate. Emmanuel Rodriguez is in center field for Minnesota on Wednesday.

  • Zach McKinstry RF | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Out of Detroit lineup

McKinstry is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Toronto.

McKinstry started the previous three games in right field for the Tigers, but he'll exit the lineup for Wednesday's matinee. Brett Callahan will patrol right field and will bat eighth as the Tigers try to complete the series sweep.

  • Sam Antonacci LF | CHW

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Sitting versus southpaw

Antonacci is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Cleveland.

Antonacci plays against most lefties, but he'll take a seat Wednesday as the Guardians send southpaw Parker Messick to the hill. Randal Grichuk is in left field, and Tommy Pham will serve as the designated hitter for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Braden Montgomery: Playing time continues to tumble

Montgomery is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cleveland.

Montgomery has been held out of the lineup for two straight contests (both against lefties) and in three of the past four games. The rookie outfielder is sporting a .495 OPS thus far in September. Tristan Peters will shift to right field Wednesday while Brenton Doyle patrols center field for the White Sox.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Absent from Cleveland lineup

Martinez (side) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the White Sox.

Martinez suffered a right side injury during Tuesday's contest. He seems to have avoided a serious injury, but with it being an afternoon game Wednesday ahead of an off day Thursday, Martinez will receive some rest. Steven Kwan is handling left field and Petey Halpin will patrol center field for the Guardians.

  • Chase DeLauter RF | CLE

Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Held out again Wednesday

DeLauter (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the White Sox.

DeLauter experienced a setback with his right wrist injury during Monday's game, and he will now sit out a second straight contest. The Guardians are idle Thursday, but with the nature of the injury, it's not a given DeLauter is ready to play by Friday versus the Athletics.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Avoids serious injury

Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt said Tuesday that Martinez "avoided something major" after exiting Monday's loss with discomfort in his side, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Martinez was held out of Tuesday's game as was Chase DeLauter (wrist), which led to Petey Halpin drawing a start in the outfield. Martinez has a .248/.285/.443 slash line in 2026 and has improved his OPS by 100 points from 2025.

  • Petey Halpin CF | CLE

Guardians' Petey Halpin: Enters Tuesday's lineup

Halpin started in center field and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the White Sox.

Halpin was in the lineup as both Chase DeLauter (wrist) and Angel Martinez (side) were held back. When all hands are healthy, Halpin usually works as a pinch runner, pinch hitter or defensive replacement. He's been grinding the last month, going 9-for-49 (.188) over his last 25 games.

  • Griffin Conine RF | MIA

Marlins' Griffin Conine: Lifts 16th homer

Conine went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Conine has gone 15-for-49 (.306) over 14 contests in September. He's added two homers and seven RBI in that span. The outfielder is now batting .262 with an .848 OPS, 16 homers, 38 RBI, 41 runs scored, eight doubles and four stolen bases over 84 contests this season. He continues to see steady playing time against right-handers.
