  • Ronny Mauricio SS | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Recalled from Syracuse

The Mets recalled Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

With Jared Young landing on the 7-day concussion IL on Friday, Mauricio joins the active roster to replenish the Mets' infield depth. The 25-year-old owns a .795 OPS across 305 plate appearances at Triple-A this season but has gone just 9-for-50 in the majors.

  • Konnor Griffin SS | PIT

Pirates' Konnor Griffin: Four hits in Friday's win

Griffin went 4-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Friday's 8-5 win over the Royals.

All four knocks were singles, but the precocious shortstop still did his job from the top of the order as part of a 15-hit barrage from the Bucs. Griffin is having a strong finish to his first MLB campaign, and over the last 10 games the 20-year-old sports a .311/.354/.422 slash line with three doubles, a triple, two steals, six runs and six RBI.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Inches closer to 30-30

De La Cruz went 2-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 6-4 win over the Cubs.

De La Cruz singled, stole a base and scored a run in the first inning. The steal was his 27th of the season and moved him closer to what would be his first 30-homer, 30-steal season. A recent homer binge -- seven over the last 13 contests -- puts that achievement within reach with eight games left in the regular season.

  • Mookie Betts SS | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Mashes pair of homers

Betts went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Friday's 8-2 win over the Giants.

Betts went yard to lead off the bottom of the first inning and added one of four long balls for the Dodgers off Philip Abner in the eighth. This was Betts' second three-hit effort in a row and his eighth multi-hit game over 15 contests in September. He's added six homers this month to put together a strong finish to the regular season. Overall, he's batting .254 with a .766 OPS, 22 homers, 65 RBI, 66 runs scored, 20 doubles and two stolen bases over 115 contests.

  • Mike Sirota SS | LAD

Dodgers' Mike Sirota: Bumped up to Triple-A

The Dodgers promoted Sirota from Double-A Tulsa to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, broadcaster Alex Freedman of the OKC Comets reports.

This makes it three different levels for Sirota this season, with most of his time spent in Double-A after he started the year with High-A Great Lakes. He's been effective at the plate wherever he's played, and in Double-A, he has a .296/.449/.488 slash line with five steals, two triples, 10 home runs and 40 RBI across 334 plate appearances. Sirota has put himself into position to make his major-league debut during the 2027 campaign.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Officially reinstated from IL

The Cubs activated Swanson (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

He had been sidelined since mid-August with a Grade 2 left oblique strain. Swanson did not go out on a rehab assignment, but he participated in a simulated game at Wrigley Field earlier this week to clear the path for his return. He will take back over at shortstop for the Cubs, with Nico Hoerner returning to second base.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Narrowly misses cycle in rout

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a triple, a double and an additional RBI in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Rockies.

Bogaerts fell a single shy of what would've been his first career cycle and the fourth in franchise history. Despite missing out on that achievement, he did become the first Padre to tally a home run and a triple in the same inning, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. The veteran shortstop also snapped a lengthy homer drought of 29 games. Through 581 trips to the plate this year, Bogaerts is slashing .226/.325/.336 with 12 big flies, 56 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 61 runs scored.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: On bench for series finale

Tovar is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

Tovar will hit the bench for the third time in five games while the Rockies hand Cole Carrigg a start at shortstop. Though he's maintained a .769 OPS so far in September, Tovar is slashing just .215/.262/.338 with 11 home runs and seven stolen bases over 479 plate appearances on the season.

  • Cooper Pratt SS | MIL

    Brewers' Cooper Pratt: Taking seat

Pratt is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt in Pittsburgh.

Pratt returned to action Wednesday following a one-game absence due to illness, but he'll retreat back to the bench during Thursday's matinee. Joey Ortiz and David Hamilton will form the left side of the infield for the Brewers in the series finale.

  • Jacob Gonzalez SS | PIT

Pirates' Jacob Gonzalez: Idle for series finale

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

With left-hander Kyle Harrison on the bump for the Brewers, the left-handed-hitting Gonzalez will retreat to the bench for the third time in four games. Jared Triolo will spell Gonzalez at third base and will bat eighth.
